It’s been a lot of fun rolling out the paperback versions of chapters one through seven, but I have to admit we’re super excited to be sharing a new chapter again! “Belief and Understanding, or, The Swordbearers’ Quandry” arrives today and it picks up right where we left off in our last chapter, in the run down apartment of Rusk and Chella Cheksaw where Palm has cornered his prey. It also features another appearance of See Yesidreel, whose portrait graces this month’s cover.
Cassian’s murder in chapter one was “like the pebble that begat the landslide,” as August Wineblood later says, setting a chain of events in motion that quickly puts the entire Order of Elsebrin in jeopardy. In chapter four we see Palm tracking down the Devil of Black Water with the help of Mister Guess, and in chapter seven we see just where Palm’s monster hunt has led him – into the sewers beneath Vessena where he also encounters Gelgarth Arbekka for the first time. Now, in chapter eight, Palm’s quest continues…
